Will a credit check be performed when I apply for the ABLE Prepaid Card?

No. A credit check is not required to open an ABLE Visa^® Prepaid Card. However, the federal government does require True Link to verify the identity of each cardholder who opens an account. When a Prepaid Card is opened, True Link will ask for the following information to attempt to verify the cardholder’s identity through an automated system:

• Name

• Address (cannot be a PO Box)

• Date of birth

• Social Security number

Additionally, in the case that an Authorized Legal Representative (ALR) is serving as the card administrator, True Link will request information from the ALR during Step 3 of the application process.
